The Karve Institute of Social Service in Pune is a college that has received accreditation from NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) and is affiliated to the Savitribai Phule Pune University . It has announced a new postgraduate course of Master in Social Work (MSW) which is to begin from the academic session of 2019-2020.
The Master in Social Work will be a full-time course that will consist of four semesters. It will also have a Choice Based Credit System. It will be a full-fledged post graduation course conducted in the college.

The Director of Karve Institute of Social Sciences, Deepak Walokar, gave a written statement in which he said that the admission for the MSW programme will be done after the candidates qualify an entrance exam on the national level. The application forms will be available on the official website of the institute. Candidates can submit them online via the website or offline in the college office during working hours.
The last date to submit the forms is 19th June 2019, Wednesday. The entrance exam for this MSW programme will be held on 25th June 2019 and the group discussion and interviews will follow on 27th June 2019. Graduates from any faculty or candidates who appeared for their degree exam in 2019 can also apply and sit for the admission test.

The institute will offer four specialisations in MSW. They are HRM - Human Resource Management, FCW - Family and Child Welfare, URCD - Urban and Rural Community Development, and MPSW - Medical and Psychiatric Social Work. The students who have degrees from Savitribai Phule Pune University will be given preference as per rule.
