- Revised results or ranks of KCET 2022 have to be declared before commencing the admission process for engineering and technology courses

What is KCET 2022 Repeaters Issue?
Last year, Karnataka PUC exams were not conducted due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Whoever appeared for KCET 2021 was given 100% weightage for KCET marks while preparing the ranks. Almost 24,000 students who passed PUC II in 2021 (without exams due to Covid-19 Pandemic) appeared for KCET 2022. These students were not informed in advance about the weightage of Class 12 marks.
When the KCET 2022 ranks were announced, students who passed and appeared for PUC exams and KCET 2022 were given 50:50 weightage for PUC marks and KCET. On the other hand, a similar rule was not followed for repeater students. Therefore, there were discrepancies in the ranks, and these students approached the High Court for Justice.
On August 22, 2022, the hearing took place for almost 2 hours, and there was no concrete decision on the repeaters issue. Honourable Justice SR Krishna Kumar heard the arguments from both parties. Basis the arguments and deliberations, the Judgment has been announced. KCET 2022 counselling dates and COMEDK 2022 choice filling dates will be announced after the High Court judgement.
