The Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute (CCARI) Goa for advanced research and academic programmes in the field of Fisheries .
The Goa Based Central Coastal Agricultural Research Institute (CCARI) has left their mark in providing indigenous solutions in various field of coastal agricultural practices including fishery industry across the country. As per the MoU signed, the research laboratories, facilities and infrastructure can be used by the students of Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies (KUFOS) for research and observations in the fields of Ocean Fishery, Marine Life, Climate and Environment Studies.
The scientists of CCARI will be visiting KUFOS as visiting faculties and share their knowledge with students and KUFOS will help CCARI for conducting aquaculture training programmes.
While talking about the benefits of the MoU, the Vice-Chancellor of KUFOS, Dr A Ramachandran said that the students of KUFOS will be able to share their best practices of agriculture with the other states of India under the guidance of CCARI as it is present all over India in various states and union territories.

Sectors like Ocean Studies, Climate Change and Environmental Studies will now be studied together by CCARI and KUFOS for the betterment of Fisheries Industry and Fisherman of India. CCARI will be soon recognised as a KUFOS Research Centre which.
This partnership will strengthen the needs and will meet the production of fishery products in the market in a sustainable way without harming the environment.
