Last Date to Apply for UPSC Combined Defence Services Exam is August 12

The last date for submitting the applications for UPSC’s Combined Defence Services Examination is August 12, 2016. The examination will take place on October 23, 2016. This is a national level examination conducted by UPSC for Officer's Training Academy, Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Indian Military Academy. The exam is carried out every two years. However, women candidates are only considered for Short Service Commission at Officer’s Training Academy.

Eligibility:-

• The minimum qualification to apply for Officer’s Training Academy and Indian Military Academy is Degree or equivalent from any recognised institute or University.
• The required qualification to apply for Indian Naval Academy is Engineering.
• The criterion to apply for Indian Airforce is 10+2 with Maths, Physics and Chemistry as the streams of study.

There are 150 vacancies in Indian Military Academy, Dehradun for its 143 ^rd course which is going to commence in July 2017 . Out of these vacancies, 19 are reserved for NCC ‘C’ candidates.

There are 45 vacancies in Indian Naval Academy out of which six are reserved for NCC ‘C’ candidates. On the other hand, there are 32 vacancies in Air Force Academy and 175 in Officer’sTraining Academy.
