Abhishek Kumar Awasthi, a resident of Hamirpur district in UP, topped the Lucknow University joint entrance examination for Bachelor of Education 2018-20. The exam result was released on 27 April 2018.
Awasthi managed to score 341 marks in the entrance test but will not be taking admission in B.Ed college as he had been selected in Lower PCS 2015. Jimmy Saurabh secured the second position in the entrance test with a score of 324.670. He is a resident of Muzaffarpur district and has a master’s degree in English from Kanpur University.

Candidates will be allotted seat in various colleges offering B.Ed as per the subject group they have chosen in the original application form. Naveen Khare, State Coordinator for JEE-BEd 2018-20 stated that no change of subject will be allowed at any stage of admission.
Bachelor of Education is an undergraduate academic course. It is a two-year full-time programme.The BEd degree is mandatory for teaching in primary schools and high schools. National Council for Teacher Education is the statutory body which regulates teaching courses in India. To sit for the B.Ed entrance examination, candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Arts/ Science / Commerce stream from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 50%.

Around 2.4 lakh students registered themselves for the Lucknow University B.Ed entrance test and around 2.10 lakh candidates appeared for the same.
