Lucknow University: According to a media report released by Lucknow University's Faculty of Engineering and Technology, the university will provide a part-time MTech program for working professionals which will commence from the academic year of 2022-23. According to the article, the engineering faculty board approved the idea at a recent meeting after assessing the effectiveness of the part-time PhD programme. The online application process will begin shortly once the academic council has given its permission.
Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Lucknow University tweeted, "FoET, University of Lucknow has introduced M.Tech part-time programme to enable higher education for a working person."

This part-time MTech programme will be taught over the course of six semesters and will last for five years. According to the article, the course is designed for the working professionals such as engineers, teachers, etc. who will be able to attend lectures late on weekends. On Saturdays and Sundays, lectures will be held from 06.00 to 09.00 p.m. Working professionals with a BTech or BE degree will be eligible to apply.
The faculty of engineering and technology at LU will begin the programme with courses like Industrial and Production Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) and Power System (Electrical Engineering). As per the above news, each batch in the part-time programme will have 20 seats.
To apply for this programme, candidates must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their companies. The report further informs that the candidates would be chosen based on their performance in an entrance exam and an interview. The costs for the part-time MTech degree would be INR 40,000/- for each semester.
This initiative is expected to benefit engineers and professionals who were unable to continue their further education after graduation owing to a variety of factors, mainly economical.
