Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has postponed the board exams for 18 subjects . The exams were scheduled to be conducted on March 5 and 7, 2022. The board has released an official notification that these exams will be postponed and the new dates for these exams will be April 5 and 7, 2022. The reason behind the postponement of the Maharashtra Board Exam 2022 is due to the tragedy which struck on February 24, 2022. The truck which was carrying the papers for the exam caught fire while transporting them from MP to Maharashtra.

Sharad Gosavi, the chairman of MSBSHSE, stated that The truck which was transporting the exam paper caught fire which had papers for exams to be conducted on March 5 and 7. He further added that since the confidentiality of these papers has been compromised, the board has decided to reset and reprint the papers for all 9 divisions. Due to the time taken in resetting and reprinting the paper, the exams have been postponed for a whole month.
The March 5 board exam was to be conducted for Hindi, German, Japanese, Chinese, and Persian language papers. On the other hand, the 7th March exam was to be conducted for Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Sindhi, Arabic, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, Bengali, Urdu, French, Spanish, and Pali. The Maharashtra HSC exam will start on March 04 and it was supposed to end on March 30. However, due to the mishap, the exam will be conducted until April 7, 2022.
