Maharashtra Board had pushed the 10th and 12th examinations two weeks ahead of its regular schedule to allow the students more time to study after the pandemic disruption. Moreover, an accident on February 13 burned lakhs of HSC question papers after which the two exams set on the 5th and 7th of March were rescheduled a month later. These delays were expected to be reflected as a delay in the release of the results, but on the other hand, Gosavi stated that there would be no delay in announcing the results because the team of moderators, as well as the board officials, have worked overtime to accomplish this. "Unlike in SSC, where sports, arts, and drawing quotas must be added and afterwards tallied, we just have sports in HSC so the work gets quicker," Gosavi said. "However, even in such a case, there would be no postponement of the results."

Over 14.72 lakh students registered for the HSC examinations, which were conducted from March 04 to March 30, while over 16.25 lakh sat for the SSC exams, which were held from March 15 to April 04.
