The Maharashtra government is planning to bring in a law to keep a check on copying by students during exams. The government is also planning to take strict action against those who leak the exam papers.
As per the report, Vinod Tawde, School Education Minister made an announcement regarding the same as the copying incidents were on the rise during the class 10 and 12 exams in the state. He also said that the strict actions will be taken against the officials who make changes in the examination centres at the last minute. The government is also planning to bring in separate legislation to handle the copy cases during the SSC and HSC exams.

The copying case has been significantly rising and is spoiling the code and conduct of the examination. The Maharashtra State Board is the conducting body of class 10 & 12 exams which are popularly known as Higher Secondary Certificate- HSC and Senior Secondary Certificate -SSC.

Tawde has also requested the MLCs, the ones who represent the teachers’ constituencies, to show some support in this matter and introduces policies to keep a check on cheating during the exams. He is also planning to ask the Board to print an additional set of question papers only for the exam centres where the question papers have been leaked. As it is impossible for the government to change the leaked question papers all over the state.
