The official notification of the exam dates for Mathematics Doctoral Scholarship 2020 has been released by the National Board for Higher Mathematics. The candidates will be able to apply for the exam till 26th December 2019 (without late fee) and till 5th January 2020 (with late fee).
The National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM) has released an exam notice announcing the exam and application dates to the Mathematics Doctoral Scholarship 2020. As per the notice, the Mathematics Doctoral Scholarship 2020 is scheduled for 25th January 2020.
As per the NBHM notice for the mathematics exam, aspirants will be able to apply for the scholarship exam till 5th January 2020. However, post 26th December 2019, the application fee for the exam will be raised.
The Board will be releasing the names of the candidates who will be appearing for the exam in a center-wise list. There will be a total of 3 center-wise lists, where the first list will be released on the 20th December 2019. Meanwhile, the second list will be released on 1st January 2020 and the third list will be published on 12th January 2020.

About Mathematics Doctoral Scholarship 2020
The Mathematics Doctoral Scholarship 2020 is an examination that will be used as a method as a screening test for admission to Ph.D. and integrated PhD degrees in Mathematics or Applied Mathematics. The admissions will be applicable for the academic year 2020-21, at various institutes such as Institute of Mathematical Sciences Chennai (IMSc Chennai), Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Pune (IISER Pune) , National Institute of Science Education and Research, Bhubaneswar (NISER Bhubaneswar) , Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Mohali (IISER Mohali) , and Harish Chandra Research Institute Allahabad (HRI Allahabad).
As per the scholarship exam notice, the scholarship will be granted to all selected students for a period of 4 years, August 2020 onwards. However, all selected candidates will need to renew the scholarship every academic year. The renewal will be granted every based on the progress which should be satisfactory as per the NBHM guidelines. The grant can be extended for the fifth year, as per the judgments of the NBHM.

Mathematics Doctoral Scholarship Grant 2020
Under the scholarship, the Ph.D. candidates will be granted a fellowship every month along with a contingency grant. The rates of both fellowship and the contingency grant will be revised and changed as per the Board’s foresight. Currently, students will receive a monthly fellowship of ₹31,000 for the first two years, with ₹35,000 monthly fellowships for the next 2 (or 3) years. The notice further read that the students will be granted an annual contingency grant of ₹40,000.

Along with the monthly and annual grants, the students will also be offered House Rent Allowance, which will be payable according to the guidelines outlined by the Government of India, as per the notice.
