The Directorate General of Training under the Ministry of Skill Development under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and ETS India Private Limited signed an MoU for conducting an English Test for TOEIC Bridge assessments for selective students in NSTIs and ITIs. The aim of the ground-breaking initiative is to uplift the English Proficiency and global employability of the candidates in ITIs and NSTIs. The Pilot program will cover the English Listening and Reading skills of the candidates from 10 states, recognized by TOEIC Bridge assessments. The objective of the assessment is framed for measuring the basic and intermediate level of English reading and listening skills for practical.
According to the Director General, Ms. Trishaljit Sethi, the partnership with ETS India is a commendable approach to uplifting the skill set of the candidates. TOEIC Bridge score report will not only serve as the globally valid credentials for showcasing English language proficiency, but also the same will be a valuable component for a constant improvement of English Proficiency levels.
On the other hand, the Country Manager of ETS India and South Asia, Sachin Jain has pointed out that the collaboration with DGT is nothing but an initiative, through which the TOEIC Bridge assessments can measure the workplace setting. Consequently, the outcomes in terms of employability and mobility will be improved.
The MoU signed between ETS India and DGT under the presence of Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, the honorable minister of Education and Minister of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship; Shri Subhas Sarkar, Honourable Minister of State for Education; Shri K Sanjay Murthy, IAS, Secretary, Department of Higher Education, MoE and Sh. Atul Kumar Tiwari, IAS, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.
The collaboration between DGT and ETS India can bring success to the program, trainers from these institutes will undergo comprehensive training workshops provided by ETS India. The workshops will equip the trainers with the skills and knowledge and can prepare the students for the TOEIC Bridge assessments.
As part of the collaboration, the ETS will provide the TOEIC Bridge Online Learning and Preparation Course to help the students prepare for the TOEIC Bridge Listening and Reading assessments. In turn, this initiative will strengthen the employability and international mobility opportunities for ITI and NSTI students.
