Mumbai University May 2018 exam paper for the Masters of Computer Application (MCA) course was same as the one from the last year. The first-semester MCA exam for the subject ‘Statistics and Probability’ was conducted on December 11, 2019, at Mumbai University . Students realised that the question paper (question paper code 59330) resembles the exam paper (question paper code 38183) of May 23, 2018. Except for the last question in the paper, every other question was identical. In the December 2019 question paper, the first question was repeated as the sixth question. In May 2018 question paper, both question 1 and question 6 were different.
The teachers believe that this is a serious loophole in the system as the university does not have an organized system to compare and contrast the question paper with the previous year question papers. They also feel that immediate measures need to be taken to put a control on these goof-ups as they have the potential of spoiling the university’s impression.
Professor Subhash Aathavle, Secretary of the Mumbai University and College Teacher’s Association (MUCTA) said that the concern has already been brought into the notice of the Vice-Chancellor but things did not alter. He further adds that the committee has changed but the members are still the same. Officials in the Mumbai university confirm that they would look into the matter and conduct an inquiry for the same.

Students from Mechanical Engineering were left stumped in November this year as well when Mechanical Technology paper was exactly similar to a six months old question paper.
These repeated mistakes that Mumbai University is making the need to be taken under control so that the pride of the university remains intact.
