The 105 th convocation ceremony of Nagpur University will take place on Saturday, March 24, 2018. Vasantrao Deshpande Hall at the varsity has been selected as the venue for this grand event. This year, the varsity will confer degrees to 48,391 students.
Compared to the previous years, the 105 th convocation of Nagpur University will record the lowest number of Ph.D students receiving degrees this year. While the 103 rd convocation in 2016 recorded 800 Ph.D degrees awarded, the 105 th convocation will have only 152 Ph.D students receiving degrees this year. Surprisingly, there will be no recipients of D.Litt (Doctor of Letters) degree this year.

A visually-impaired student from Babasaheb Ambedkar College (affiliated to Nagpur University), Rahul Bajaj topped the medals list by securing 20 awards including 13 gold medals. Rahul is also the first student from Nagpur University to be selected for the esteemed Rhodes scholarship offered by Oxford University . Also, Rahul is the first specially-abled person in India to bag this scholarship. The scholarship is offered to those students with outstanding academic achievements.
A three-year LLB student from Central India College of Law , Saurabh Trivedi bagged the second spot by winning 13 medals. Similarly, a B.Sc. student (Rachna Kanojiya) from Institute of Science and a B.A student (Sayali Peshwe) from Bizani Women’s College bagged the third spot by securing 12 awards each.

During the convocation ceremony, a total number of 457 medals and 172 prizes will be awarded to students. Similarly, 16,259 PG and 31,980 UG degrees will be awarded to students.
Governor of Tamil Nadu, Banwarlal Purohit will be the chief guest for the 105 th convocation ceremony of Nagpur University.
