NIRF Research Rankings 2022: On July 15, 2022 at 11 AM, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, the Honourable Union Minister of Education of India, has declared the names of the topmost institutes in each of the eleven categories as per NIRF 2022 Rankings. Participation from a total of 7854 institutions was seen this year which is almost double when compared to the number in 2016.
NIRF Rankings 2022 (Live Updates)
The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) was first rolled out in 2015 by the Government of India to provide more clarity to the students on the quality of education provided by each institute. The NIRF Score was established as a measure of quality check to carry this out. Until 2018, NIRF registrations were voluntary while after 2018, all government-aided institutes are mandatorily a participant.
NIRF ranks and assigns scores to the institutes based on the following five factors: i. Teaching, Learning, & Resources, ii. Research and Professional Practice, iii. Graduation Outcomes, iv. Outreach and Inclusivity, and v. Peer Perception. After the announcement of NIRF Rankings 2022 today, the same will be updated here.

NIRF Research Rankings 2021: Highlights
With a NIRF Score of 86.48, the Indian Institute of Science at Bengaluru had topped NIRF Research Rankings in the previous year. Following it at second, third, fourth, and fifth position respectively are IIT Madras, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, and IIT Kharagpur.
