The National Institute of Technology Warangal (NIT Warangal) is seeking applications of eligible candidates for 1 vacant contractual post of Junior Research Fellow (Department of Biotechnology). The title of the project is “ Recovery of Ammonia and Phosphorus Accompanied by Microbial Protein Using Electrochemically and Bioelectrochemically Driven Process from Human Urine”. The course duration is of 2 years.

The application form must be supported by the necessary proof of relevant documents and the email subject must mention the name of the position applied for correctly.

Eligibility Criteria - The maximum age limit of the candidate is 28 years and there is a relaxation of up to 5 years in the upper age limit for SC/ST/OBC/women and physically handicapped candidates. The candidate must have prior knowledge/experience in molecular biology and genetic engineering techniques along with a qualification in ME/M.Tech in Biotechnology/Biochemical Engineering/Chemical engineering/Life sciences or MSc in Biotechnology/Life sciences with valid GATE/CSIR-NET.
Selection Criteria - After the submission of the application forms, they will be thoroughly examined, and befitting applicants will be called for further proceedings. The selection of the candidates will be done based on their interview performance. The selected candidate will be granted an emolument of Rs. 31,000 / month and will also be eligible for on-campus hostel & mess accommodation depending upon availability.

The chosen candidate will be required to undertake experiments such as cloning and expression of heterologous genes in yeast/bacteria, fermentation in shake flask and bioreactor and analysis of metabolites in HPLC, and preparation of research reports or articles as parts of the project. The selected applicant will be eligible to register for a Ph.D. Degree at NIT Warangal in compliance with the rules of the institution.
