NSUI, HPSU Announce Panel for Upcoming Panjab University Elections

The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) announced panel for upcoming elections in Panjab University. This year, all the office bearers are girls. The Union has got a great response from the girls in the DAV College. The state president of NSUI, Mr. Gurhot Sandhu said that full support and proper presentation is given to girls. He mentioned that the team has substantial office bearers which would lead them to victory.

  • Priyanjali – President
  • Ravdeep Mangat – Campus Incharge
  • Surbhi Ruhan – Vice President
  • Manvika Nayar – Girl’s Wing Chairman
  • Simran Bajwa – Party President
  • Gurpartap Waraich - Chairman

On the other hand, the Himachal Pradesh Students’ Union (HPSU) announced the panel for upcoming Panjab University elections. The announcement was made at a gathering where 100-150 students mostly from Himachal Pradesh were present. Kuldeep Singh Rawat, former president of HPSU, said that students are the power of the nation, and they must play a significant role in promoting clean politics and work for the welfare of the students.

  • Sanjeev Negi – Party President
  • Preeti Negi – Campus President
  • Shrishty Sharma – Vice President
  • Nikhil Rugta – General Secretary
  • Devender Nanta – Joint Secretary
  • Aman Nagaik – Election in-charge

A delegation of research scholars of Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) met the vice chancellor of the University and discussed various problems like room presentation after the completion of five years, renewal of WiFi and hostels room. They said that WiFi is being provided only for six months which is very less. The VC agreed that the University would look into the issues raised by ABVP and hold a meeting on September 2, 2016.
