The provision list for diploma engineering seats in the State of Gujarat has been declared by the Admission Committee for Provisional Diploma Courses. It has been stated by the designated authority that a total number of 24,269 or 36% seats are lying vacant.
The number of seats available in Gujarat for students to join diploma engineering is huge. To break it up there are around 25706 seats in 31 government colleges and 1513 seats in five grant-in-aid colleges. The rest of the seats which adds up to a number of 40,353 are available in 144 self-financed colleges. The total number of students who have been included in the provisional list as said by ACPDC is 43,302. The officials said the due to newly introduced Economically Weaker Section Quota the number of offered seats increase by a notable margin of 25%.
A merit list was prepared by the authority which depicted that the last name on that list has secured 35.33% marks which means 85 out of a total marks of 300. Similarly, the student to top the merit chart is Himani Akshay Trivedi. He scored a whopping 96.16% which is like 292 out of 300.

The notable fact is the decrease of demand for diploma engineering in the state of Gujarat. Decrease in the availability of jobs in the fields of engineering and technical studies have compelled the students to choose a stream where the level of competition is less if compared to the rest.
