President of India, Shri. Ram Nath Kovind delivered a memorial lecture on the ‘ Kabir of Indian Politics – Dr. Ram Mohan Lohiya at ITM University Gwalior. Remembering Dr. Lohiya on the occasion, President Kovind pointed that Dr. Lohiya always supported gender equality , and he played a dominant role in the upliftment of the poor, outcaste and downtrodden.
In the lifespan of 57 years, Dr. Lohiya was imprisoned 18 times by the British government for his anti-British acts, i.e., protests and struggles to win freedom for his country. He was subjected to extreme torture in a British prison, yet he never gave up his patience and composure. He continued his struggle to attain independence for his motherland, the President added.

The 4 th memorial lecture on Dr. Ram Mohan Lohiya at ITM Gwalior was attended by: -
- Governor of Madhya Pradesh, Smt. Anandiben Patel
- Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mr. Shivraj Chauhan
- Governor of Haryana, Shri. Kaptan Singh Solanki
- Chief Minister of Bihar, Mr. Nitish Kumar
- Cabinet Minister of Higher Education (MP), Mr. Jai Bhan Singh Pawaiya
Apart from President Kovind, Judge of the Supreme Court, Justice Sudarshan Reddy, Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh and Vice-President of India Mr. Venkaiah Naidu also spoke at the event. All the officials paid tribute to Dr. Lohiya on the occasion.

Every year, ITM University Gwalior organises a memorial lecture to pay tribute to the revolutionary socialist leader, Dr. Ram Mohan Lohiya.
