PSTET 2023 exam CANCELLED: The Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET 2023) which was conducted on March 13 has been cancelled. The announcement was made by the Harjot Singh Bains (Punjab Education Minister) on Monday through his Twitter handle stating that "To maintain complete fairness in our examination process, a PS level probe has been ordered to look into PSTET exam conducted by a third Party with A++ NAAC grade i.e. GNDU."
The decision to cancel the examination was taken amid the allegations of answers being printed on the question paper in MCQ format. Furthermore, Bains stated that people found guilty will be arrested for their criminal acts. The third part institution- Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), has announced to reschedule the examination without charging any fees. The information related to the new PSTET 2023 exam date will be notified to candidates on the official website -pstet.pseb.ac.in.
"In future, have ordered my department to have a suitable clause for compensation in the MOU’s signed with third parties for compensation of the candidates in such a scenario. Why should candidates suffer" stated the Punjab Education Minister.
PSEB conducted the Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test (PSTET) 2023 on March 12 in Offline (pen and paper) mode. The exam is conducted once a year in Bilingual (Punjabi & English). The exam is conducted separately for Paper 1 and Paper 2, both papers comprise of total 150 MCQ questions. The Paper 1 exam is conducted for primary teachers (Classes 1 to 5) and Paper 2 for elementary teachers (Classes 6 to 8). Those who want to teach Classes 1 to 8 have to appear for both papers.
