RGUKT Basar Women Saftey Apps

Students of RGUKT Basar (Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies) have developed some devices and apps for women safety, which received good appreciation at the recently concluded World Education Summit. Details about the noteworthy innovations of RGUKT students for women safety can be checked here.

One of the intermediate students of RGUKT, N Shashidar Raju developed a wristwatch, i.e., Sthreebal , which can generate electric shock if someone tries to assault the women. All that the women need to do is to turn on a button in the watch, which can generate 1000 volts electric shock and paralyze the attacker. Since the wristwatch is insulated, there is no harm for the women who wear it. The cost incurred to design this device was just Rs. 500-600. The equipment used in Sthreebal was a battery of an old mobile phone, a high voltage generator and a watch. The 17-year old Shashi is planning to get a patent for this device soon. The device has been designed with the help of his Physics professor, Anita.

A team of four RGUKT students developed an app called ‘Swarasthr’ . Through this app, women can save contacts. In times of danger, the app directly recognizes the situation based on women’s voice and sends a message or alert to all the contacts that are saved on this app. Along with SMS alerts, the location will be also shared with all the contacts and nearest security agencies.
