Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalayas (RPVVs) has decided that the vocational subjects will no longer be offered. The institute is run by the Delhi Government which has taken the decision citing the need for academic excellence for the exclusive schools in the state. RPVV took the decision during the council meeting which was held in September 2019 and the decision was conveyed to the staff members last month.

As per the decision taken by the academic council, the students will no longer be able to opt for “basic mathematics” as the easier maths as the Mathematics subject at the school must have a standard level. There are a total of two RPVVs in Delhi which are model schools, with the best infrastructure, academics and faculties. While the other schools in the state are open for all to take admission, the students have to qualify the entrance test in order to get admission to these schools.

In effect from the year 2020-21, the academic council has decided to scrap off the vocational subjects which were offered in these schools earlier. This means that the students can only opt for the main subjects as offered by CBSE including English, Hindi, Social Science, Science, Mathematics and one language subject. The students will have no option for optional subjects along with the main subjects offered by the board.
As per the statement given by RPVVs, there should not be any choice of optional subjects marks substitution as the RPVVs is known for the academic excellence in the main subjects.
