‘Sampradana’ E-portal Mandatory for Student Services in Karnataka Colleges

Karnataka Government has invited all the colleges and higher education institutes to come under a common online portal for catering to students. Currently, all the colleges in Karnataka have their own web-portals where all important documents such as Student Certificates, Transfer Certificates etc. get furnished. But Karnataka government has appealed to them to move to a common e-portal for all colleges to streamline the student services process under one roof.

The Karnataka government has named the portal ‘Sampradana’ and it has been launched recently. Higher Education officials of the state confirm that as of now, all the higher grade colleges, technical colleges, and Tumkur University have ported into the portal and other colleges have also shown an interest to come on board.

Anil Kumar, the additional chief secretary of Karnataka State government for higher education under Deve Gowdawda, the minister of higher education in Karnataka state has said it has been made mandatory for the universities to come under the Sampradana portal. The government is planning to invite corporate companies, industries and NGOs to invest for the development of the portal as their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Activities. Commissioner for the Department of Collegiate Education, Manjula said that the option for corporates and donors for donating in universities fund is also integrated into the portal. The portal has all necessary information such as infrastructural and academic details for students as well as Corporate companies.
