SRM-AP Students Bag First Prize in International Hackathon

SRM Amravati participates in 'Developer Week Hackathon' in San Francisco along with 150+ colleges from all over the world. A team of 5 from SRM AP bagged first prize in the International Hackathon. 

SRM-AP Students Bag First Prize in International Hackathon

SRM University Andhra Pradesh, also known as SRM University Amravati has credited another achievement into its kitty. A team of five students from the SRM-AP won laurels in ‘Developer Week Hackathon ’, the world’s largest challenge driven hackathon which took place in San Francisco. These students are pursuing a semester in an Abroad Program with the University of California.

These students developed a game based on Blockchain structure which pursues people to buy the commodity. The students developed Ethereum-based trading system in the form of a game. Out of five students, 1 student is from Electronic and Communication Engineering, and others are from Computer Science Engineering branch.

The SRM AP students who evinced impressive performance in 'Developer Week Hackathon' are -

  1. Souradeep Das
  2. Agnishwar Paul
  3. Saptarshi Majumdar
  4. Rajarshi Majumdar
  5. Kaushik B Muthe

They included a chatting platform in the game which is the influence of Agoraio. The game received appreciation from Agoraio developers. For implication of this feature, the team was awarded the 1st prize and an extra $1000 by the Agoraio.

The Vice-Chancellor of SRM University Andhra Pradesh, Dr Jamshed Bharucha mentioned that SRM University being much younger than many other universities offers the best possible opportunities to its students, not only to make them do well professionally but also to make them a globally sensitive citizen. Hence they conduct the abroad semester program purposely to give them a stage to perform.

More than 150 teams had participated, Kaushik Muthe led one more team which qualified till top 5 in the Hackathon, and received the first prize for the ‘ Best Blockchain Utility Hack’ . They were appreciated by offering $500. This group also made a mark by inventing a contract system based on Blockchain which would help to make a social or corporate contract. It's a machine based contract system where both the parties would have to enter their contract and also share its details, immediately both of them would receive an email notification. It is an easy procedure, and if both the parties decide, then they can also recover the contract anytime they want.
