According to the latest data released by IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University), 2,30,137 students enrolled in various graduate courses offered by the varsity in 2018-19. Compared to the previous three academic years, the number of students enrolled in graduate courses of IGNOU was less. For instance, almost 4,00,000 students took up Bachelor’s courses of IGNOU in 2015-16 while the number was 3,70,000 in 2014-15. In all, the enrollment of students in graduate courses of IGNOU dropped by 42% this year.
The female enrolled in IGNOU Bachelor’s courses was less compared to 2015-16. In 2018-19, 38% of female students joined various courses offered by IGNOU. However, the percentage of female enrolment at IGNOU in 2015-16 was 45.5%.

Among different graduate courses, Bachelor of Arts (B.A) continued its dominance with the highest number of enrolments. B.Com – Corporate Affairs and Administration was the least popular course with only 96 enrolments in 2018-19. Around 1,67,373 students joined B.A. course at IGNOU, and the course is being offered in 1,176 learning centres. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) registered 15,922 students in 197 study centres this year.
On the other hand, student enrolments in Master’s courses were quite contrasting. M.Com course recorded a maximum number of admissions followed by M.A. Political Science, M.A. English Literature, and M.A. History.

IGNOU calculated the number of students enrolled in graduate courses in July 2018 session, and the highlights of the report have been explained above.
