Students Demand KEA to Postpone KCET 2020

With almost all the UG, and PG semester exams in the state been postponed due to the pandemic, the students have started raising their concern against postponing KCET by sending mass emails to the government and examination authorities along with social media.

With the COVID-19 cases rising immensely in the country and the Karnataka CET date coming closer, the students have started raising their voices against postponing the exam. With almost all the UG, and PG semester exams in the state been postponed due to the pandemic, the students have started raising their concern against postponing KCET by sending mass emails to the government and examination authorities along with social media. Karnataka CET is scheduled to be conducted on July 30 and 31, 2020.

#postponekcet and #UGCcancelonlineexams hashtags are trending on the Twitter and other social media platform with a motive to ask government officials not to insist on the Karnataka CET exam. As per the students, even though there is just a week away from the exam, the admit card has not been released yet. One of the parents of a II PU student said that due to the availability of admit card, we still don’t know where will my daughter’s exam centre lie. Since there are too many containment zones in the state, it has become a great concern for us, she added.

As per the students, when the national level CETs and other admission entrance exams have been postponed, it is unnecessary for the state government to conduct KCET at this time.

Meanwhile, the COMEDK students are also demanding to postpone the exam as travelling to the respective exam centres will be a problem due to lockdown. COMEDK is scheduled to be conducted on August 1, 2020.
