339 students from various branches of engineering at the Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge and Technologies (RGUKT)-Basar have got job offers from various firms, leading to an increase in campus placements of the Institute for 2018-19. Total 50.90 percent of the 666 students of the university have got employment offers.
The administrative officer Srihari and the deputy registrar VLS Murthy said that 120 students from the ECE branch, 143 from the CSE stream, 12 from civil engineering, and 17 from mechanical engineering have been shortlisted by companies. 27 students from chemical engineering and 20 from MME are also in the queue and can get jobs. The annual salary package for these students ranges from Rs.3.36-Rs.8 lakh.

The Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge and Technologies authorities have stated that the percentage of placements has one up to 48 in 2017-18 as compared to 36 in 2016-17. The good quality of education helped students do well in tests and interviews which were conducted by the companies on the campus for filling up jobs. Measures were being taken to improve the percentage further.

RGUKT is the first of its kind university in the country with an educational model which is ICT based. The campus of the university is spread over an area of 272 acres. There are about 6000 students at the university. RGUKT offers undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses. The university has ICT equipped classrooms, well-equipped labs, libraries with a large volume of books, indoor as well as outdoor recreational facilities.
