The Shivaji University, Kolhapur (SUK)
issued a fresh advertisement for the recruitment of registrar on May 27. The position has been vacant since June 15, 2015. V N Shinde is currently the acting registrar since then.
According to the advertisement, the post will be for a tenure of five years and is covered under the state government's salary grants scheme. Qualification details, age, pay scale, etc., are available on the official website of the university. The circular said that the last date for application is June 16. The last date for submission of the form is June 21.
The selection panel of the SUK for the registrar's post issued a fresh advertisement for the registrar's post in November last year, after it failed to spot a suitable candidate for the post. The post was left vacant after the former registrar D V Muley's completion of tenure. The panel witnessed as many as 13 candidates in the final interview round conducted on November 19. Of this, not a single candidate was recommended for the post.
The university constituted a four-member committee in June last year to scrutinise the applications. After this, 21 candidates were found to be eligible, a university official said.
The registrar's position is generally known as the university custodian, as he or she looks after the administration and establishment and appointments in the university campus. At present, deputy registrar V N Shinde is looking after the registrar position on a temporary basis.
