NEET PG Counselling 2022: The Supreme Court bench comprising of Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice Hima Kohli made an oral remark on Monday, August 29, 2022, stating, “We will not interfere. Let NEET PG Counselling go through. Don’t stall it anymore.” Justice DY Chandrachud continued, “we cannot put the students in jeopardy.”
The remarks were made in accordance with a Writ Petition dated 08.08.2022 filed by Pritish Kumar on behalf of MBBS graduates registered under the State Medical Council. The petition is against the National Board of Examinations (NBE).
Earlier on August 8, the court had stated that it will not stay in the counselling, and on August 29 too, the apex court reinforced the same. The oral remark was made by Justice DY Chandrachud when the counsel mentioned NEET PG Counselling 2022 to seek clarification regarding the case.

The petition challenges clauses 9.7 and 10.4 of the NEET PG 2022 Information Bulletin. These clauses state that no revaluation, rechecking, or re-totalling of the paper will be permitted. Petitioners argue that there are serious mismatches in their NEET PG 2022 Result and the revaluation is not granted. The petition also lists other national examinations like NEET UG which display the response sheets and answer keys and accepts grievances against the answer key.
The non-display of response sheets to the students has been noted as a violation of the Right to Information Act, 2005 in the petition. The petition also seeks SC to constitute a committee to examine the alleged discrepancies and to ensure fairness. It also asks NBE to frame guidelines for publishing answer keys and response sheets after the examination.
