A petition was registered on the grounds that candidates were unable to complete their admissions due to lack of time for the counselling process as well as the mop-up round and stray vacancy round. So, the extension is only made for the candidates who were listed on the selected list and were unable to secure their seats due to a shortage of time to report or pay the application fee. Also, multiple seats were vacant after the completion of the last date for admissions, so instead of wasting the seats, the Director General of Health Services has announced the extension of dates. The DGHS has presented itself in front of the Madras HC and orally stated the extension of the last date for admission.
