According to the latest report, all schools in Tamil Nadu are functional on 18 October 2024, like on 17 October 2024. The schools are expected to remain open on 19 October 2024 as well, as there is no red zone warning set by IMD as of now for any district. Even if the weather conditions deteriorate later, schools might close in the most affected districts of Tamil Nadu such as Thiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Chennai, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, and Thiruvannamallai. For other districts, the schools will mostly remain open.

Tamil Nadu Expected Rain Conditions 19 October 2024
On 19 October 2024, heavy rain might occur in Tiruvallur, Ranipet, Tiruvannamalai, Vellore, Tirupattur, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, and Chennai districts, and Puducherry. There might be thunderstorms and lightning, along with gusty wind flowing across the state, however, the intensity is expected to be lower than in the last few days. Light to moderate rain might persist till 23 October 2024. Students are advised to take precautionary measures before going to school.
