In the latest update regarding the re-examination of Class 12 Economics exam , Senior Congress Leader Shashi Tharoor has written to the HRD Minister , Prakash Javadekar to exempt students from taking the retest. As per the reports, he has asked HRD Minister to cancel re-examination of the class 12 economics paper on compassionate grounds and also stated that it is unfair for students as the entrance exams are just around the corner and they are already preparing for the same. Therefore, the ministry should reconsider their decision.

In a letter to Javadekar, Tharoor has mentioned that class 12 students are already under a lot of stress as competitive exams are just around the corner and should be exempted from taking the exam again. He also said that since the class 10 examination is cancelled and now they must look into the 12 examinations. However, the ministry has not commented anything yet on the matter.

Further, in the letter, he has also asked the ministry to introduce strict measures and take necessary steps to find the person responsible for the leak of question papers. Also, strict actions should be taken against the person responsible for ruining the sanctity of the board exams and ensure their credibility. As per him, a retest will be totally unfair to students and its the duty of the government to make sure that something like this does not happen again.
