Tata Institute of Social Sciences - Patna is going to start its session very soon. The Patna extension of the college is going to start a few vocational courses and have also got the approval for the same. The college courses have been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and University Grants Commission (UGC).
The Patna Centre for the Tata Institute of Social Sciences has been named after the Centre for Development Practice & Research (CDPR).
This initiative that has been supported by the Takshila Educational Society (TES), and promoted by the Delhi Public School - Patna, Pune, Ludhiana & Coimbatore.
The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) director from the Mumbai campus Mr. S Parasuraman inaugurated the centre recently. TES had also offered to host the Centre at the campus of the senior wing of DPS Patna.
The TES seeks to provide, infrastructural support, free of charge, & associated facilities such as the office space, water, electricity, furniture.
The TES would also provide the budget support to Centre to meet the costs related to salaries, computers fellowships &consumables etc.
Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) - Patna would have to raise the resources for the research.
