I got low TNEA Random Number 2024. Can I submit grievance against it?

As per the tie-breaking criteria, if two or more candidates have the same overall and subject-wise scores, then as a final resort, TNEA random number will be used to break the tie. A candidate with higher number will be given a higher rank. So even if a candidate with lower TNEA random number 2024 gets a lower rank despite having the same marks, grievances against it will not be accepted. The random number is auto-generated and assigned. The lower rank will have to be accepted by the candidate even if he/she has the same marks.

TNEA Random Number 2024: Is round-wise schedule out?

DTE TN has not declared the schedule for the counsellings rounds yet. The schedule is only released until the grievance redressal of the rank list. The rank list will be published on July 10 and the grievances against it will be resolved until July 20.

TNEA Counselling 2024 will have three main counselling rounds and a spot admissions round. In each round, there are four counselling stages as follows:

Mathematics carries the highest weight in the scaled score. In board examination, Mathematics paper was held for 100 marks and it will retain the same weightage in TNEA counselling. Physics and Chemistry also held 100 marks weightage but their score will be scaled down to 50 marks each for the preparation of TNEA inter-se-merit.

As per the GO 221 Higher Education (J2) Dated: 15.11.2021, all education expenses in professional courses will be waived off for students admitted under the 7.5% reservation for government school students. The fees for counselling, tuition, and hostel would be paid by the government. They have to submit the proof for Government School study details from 6th standard to 12th standard.

Seat allocations to General or Open seats will be done as per their "Overall Ranks". On the other hand, reserved seat allocations will be done through "Community Ranks". It is also to be noted that if a reserved category candidate is allotted a seat through the Open category, then his/her overall rank will be considered instead of community ranks.

If two more candidates score the same marks out of the scaled score of 200 marks, then their merit rank will be decided as per the tie-breaking criteria specified by DTE TN in advance.

TNEA Random Number 2024: Merit list

The marks obtained after normalization will again be normalized to 200 marks for all boards inclusing TN HSC. The total marks in PCM subjects will be scaled down to 200 marks for the determination of merit ranks. In this, 100 marks will be awarded to Mathematics while 50 marks will be allotted to Physics and Chemistry each.

TNEA Random Number 2024: Marks normalization

Normalization process will be used for students of boards other than TN HSC (+2). If the highest mark secured by the student of State Board of Tamil Nadu in Physics is 100 and the highest mark secured by a student of any other Board in the same subject is 90 marks, then both the highest marks will be considered to be equal to 100. If a student of the other Board secures 60 marks in Physics when the highest marks in Physics in the same Board is 90, 60 marks will be considered to be equal to 66. 66 marks as arrived below.

TNEA Random Number 2024 is a 10-digit unique ID assigned to each candidate who has completed counselling registratino and document uploading. It is used to break ties and thus finalize the unique ranks of the applications for seat allocation purposes.
