TSTET Eligibility Criteria 2022 (Released): Check New Amendments

TS TET Eligibility Criteria for the year 2022 has been amended by the Government of Telangana on March 23, 2022. Read to check Eligibility Criteria, Qualifying Marks, and Certificate Validity. 

TS TET Eligibility Criteria 2022

TSTET 2022 Eligibility Criteria: Telangana State Teachers Eligibility Test Examination will be conducted by the Department of School Education, the Government of Telangana. Candidates who wish to become a teacher for Classes 1 to 8  in the State Government schools, Zilla Parishad Schools, Mandal Parishad, Private unaided schools, and Private Aided Schools in Telangana State are required to clear this examination. Candidates are required to read the full article in order to know about the TS TET eligibility criteria, qualifying marks, and certificate validity. TS TET comprises of two Papers:

  • Paper 1 for the candidates who aspire to become a teacher for Class 1 to 5.
  • Paper 2 for the candidates who aspire to become a teacher from Class 6 to 8.

TS TET Eligibility Criteria 2022

TS TET Eligibility Criteria 2022 and the qualifying for the year 2022 new amendments have been released by the Government of Telangana on March 23, 2022. Candidates who wish to give the examination for this year must go through the below-mentioned details.

  1. Intermediate / Senior Secondary with a minimum of 50% marks. In the case of SC/ST/BC/DA, the minimum marks are 45% AND pass in 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education / 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education {B.El.Ed.)/ 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

OR

  1. Intermediate / Senior Secondary with a minimum of 45% marks. In respect of SC/ST/ BC/ DA, the minimum marks shall be 40% AND pass in 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education / 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed.)/ 2 – year Diploma in Education (Special Education) in case or candidate, who have passed or admitted to D.EI.Ed/D.Ed., course prior to, issue these guidelines.


  1. Intermediate / Senior Secondary with a minimum of 50% marks. In the case of SC/ST/BC/DA, the minimum marks shall be 45% AND pass in 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education / 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education {B.El.Ed.)/ 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education).

  1. Intermediate / Senior Secondary with a minimum of 45% marks. ln respect of SC/ ST/ BC/ DA, the minimum marks shall be 40% AND pass in 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education n / 4· year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.EI.Ed.)/ 2 - year Diploma in Education (Special Education) in case or candidate, who have passed or admitted to D.EI.Ed/D.Ed., course prior to, issue these guidelines.

OR

Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks. In the case of SC/ST/ BC/DA, the minimum marks shall be 45 % AND pass in Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) /Bachelor of Education (Special Education).

NOTE: If a person has a Bachelor of Education from any NCTE recognized institution then he/ she will be considered for appointment as a teacher in classes 1 to 5. But that appointed person will have to complete the mandatory 6 month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE. The condition needs to be fullied within 2 years of appointment.

The validity of Certificates is for a period of 7 years from the date of TET concerned.

Rule 9(C)

The Validity Period of TET qualifying certificates will remain valid for life.
