The University Grants Commission (UGC) is inviting applications from Postgraduate (PG) SC/ ST students for scholarship scheme. The major motive of this scholarship scheme is to help SC/ST students to pursue postgraduate studies at universities and colleges across the country. The scholarship scheme is available for students pursuing PG professional courses such as management, pharmacy, engineering, t echnology etc.
According to this scheme, M.Tech/ M.E . students will be offered a sum of Rs. 7,800 per month and Rs. 15,000 per annum as contingency amount. Similarly, students pursuing other courses will be provided Rs. 4,800 per month and Rs. 10,000 per annum as contingency amount.

All the SC/ST students who have completed the graduate degree and secured admission in Post Graduate professional courses are eligible to register for this scholarship scheme. However, the candidates who are pursuing PG courses in distance mode are not eligible to apply. For male candidates, the upper age limit to apply for the scholarship scheme is 45 years, while 50 years is the upper age limit for female candidates. Only those candidates who qualify the eligibility criteria can apply for the scholarship scheme.
For registration, the candidates will have to visit the official website of National Scholarship Portal (NSP). Online application forms can be submitted through this portal. The candidates will have to keep the scanned copies of necessary documents like caste and income certificates mandatory before filling the online application.
