Universities of Taiwan to Collaborate with Amity University

Delegation of the Taiwan Higher Education Exposition (THEE) in India visited Amity University, Sector-125, Noida to discuss the potential areas of mutual collaboration between Amity and Educational Institutions of Taiwan.

The Delegation represented 11 Universities of Taiwan- “National Tsing Hua University”, “Taipei Medical University”, “National Chiao Tung University”, “National Cheng Kung University”, “WuFeng University”, “National Dong hwa University”, “Chang Jung Christian University”, “Nanhua University”, “Tamkang University”, “Chaoyang University of Technology”, “Kaohsiung Medical University” along with Taiwan Education Centre in India. Mr. Yi-Ta Chen- Secretary, education Division, Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in India accompanied the Delegation

Welcoming the distinguished members of the Delegation, Dr. B Shukla- Vice Chancellor, Amity University said that Amity has a special inclination towards Taiwan and Taiwan Education Center was established in Amity in June, 2012 in association with National Tsing Hua University to strengthen the academic ties between India and Taiwan by offering Mandarin Chinese language to the students of Amity through proficient Mandarin Instructors from Taiwan.


Mr. William Anthony Stanton-Senior Vice President for Global Affairs, National Tsing Hua University appreciated the infrastructure and facilities offered by Amity University and commended Amity for setting up Taiwan Education Center for promoting Mandarin Chinese amongst the students of Amity.

Mr. Wang, Wei- Chung- Co-Director of Program office of Taiwan Education Centre in India applauded the excellence in education and research that Amity is known for. He stressed that proposed synergy between Amity University and Universities of Taiwan will be mutually rewarding in the area of academics and excellence in research.

Sharing his views, Dr. W. Selvamurthy President, Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation said that the relationship between India and Taiwan is on upswing and Amity is looking forward to strengthen its relationship with Taiwanese Educational Institutions. Appraising the distinguished members with the robust Research and Innovation base of Amity,

Dr. Selvamurthy stressed that Amity Science Technology and Innovation Foundation was set up by the Founder President of Amity- Dr. Ashok K Chauhan to promote the culture of Science and Technology in Amity. He shared that Amity Innovation Incubator, a unique platform for budding entrepreneurs, has incubated more than 100 companies and many start-ups have been supported by the Incubator. He briefed the delegation with the potential areas of collaboration that could be considered for initiating tie-ups between Amity and Taiwanese Educational Institutions.

The potential areas for collaboration that were broached upon during the discussions and deliberations included mutualcollaboration in the area of PhD Research Projects, Masters’ Dissertation, Short Projects ranging from 3-6 months in B. Tech Programmes, Bilateral programmes, Joint Patents, Joint Technology Development, Industry Collaborations, Student and Faculty Exchange Programmes.
Also present during the occasion were Prof. (Dr.) Abhay Bansal, Joint Acting Head , Amity School of Engineering and Technology; Wg. Cdr S K Goel- Dy. Director, International Affairs Department, Mr. I. S Kochar, Officiating Head, Amity School of Foreign Languages and other Directors/HoDs of Amity.
