Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) has collaborated with tech giant RBEI (Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions Private Limited) to boost campus engagement programmes and research activities. Together, the two parties will work towards meeting the critical challenges by setting up a world-class facility for mobility research-autonomous and the intelligent driving system.
The institute has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with RBEI as part of the tie-up. The memorandum describes the general framework of the agreement which involves:
Training the Faculty
Facilitating Curriculum Designing and Development
Creating Joint Research Projects
Establishing IRSC Chapter
Early Campus Hiring Processes
While talking about the agreement, Mr G. Viswanathan, the Chancellor of (VIT), said that the MoU will help in meeting the critical challenges posed by the industry. In order to meet the challenges, both the involved parties i.e., VIT and RBEI will be establishing the gilt-edge facilities for intelligent driving and mobility research-autonomous system.

Other than that, the focus of the collaboration will be on healthcare diagnostics system, autonomous driving system and Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and electromagnetic interference (EMI). The statement was supported by Mr Sekar Viswanathan, Vice-Chancellor, VIT, to which he added that the tie-up will help in further strengthening the joint research activities by the two parties.

The MoU seems to be a step taken in the right direction as it will lead to deeper academic engagement and students will get more exposure to the practical aspects of the continuously changing technology even before they enter the industry.
