Paper I was used to determine an individual's eligibility as a teacher for classes I through V, whereas Paper II was used to determine an individual's eligibility for classes VI through VIII. Individuals belonging to the General Caste category must score 40 percent to qualify for the West Bengal State Eligibility Test, while those belonging to the Other Backward Class, Economically Backward Class, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Person With Disability, and Transgender candidates must only score 35 percent.
