The Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) inaugurated its new administrative building in Kolhapur. Vice-chancellors of YCMOU Manikrao Salunkhe and Shivaji University, Kolhapur (SUK), Devanand Shinde were present at the ceremony. Dr.Shinde expressed happiness about the same.
Shinde added that students from remote and rural areas are the ones who are getting most by opening of this new building. He also said SUK will be providing its full support to YCMOU.
"No varsity offers as many courses as the open university, that too at such affordable fees. "The reach of open university is much higher than the traditional ones. In Kolhapur region alone it has over 700 study centres where more than 60,000 students are enrolled for various courses."
