Agneepath Recruitment Scheme 2022: Agneepath Scheme, addressed as "Tour of Duty", is a newly evolved concept, introduced by the defense Ministry of India. The Agneepath scheme lay forward the idea of recruiting the young soldiers or "agniveers", initially for a period of 4 years, in all the three wings of the armed forces. After these 4 years, the government will re enlist 25% of the total recruits while the rest will be discharged from their service. The dicharged candidates will be entitled to numerous benefits including a fund of ₹11,7000, insurance and other such interests. The concept of tour of duty may be new in India, but it already prevailed in most of the developed and highly economic nations like Russia, Japan, Norway, Israel, Sweden, North Korea, etc.
Earlier, The Indian Army, Navy and Air Force used to induct soldiers separately through different recruitment schemes. Some of these major recruitment exams include Army Rally, GD, Army Clerk, Communicaton Operator, etc. for the Indian Army; Airmen X Group, Y group, etc. for Indian Air Force and schemes like Artificer Apprentice AA, SSR, MR, etc. for the Indian Navy. Now, all these schemes have been replaced and integrated into a single recruitment scheme that is Agneepath Scheme. The basic idea behind the decision is to cut the expenses related to pension and salaries out of the defense budget and consequently to increase the budget for arms deal and regulations and work on to improve the technicalities in the armed forces.
