The CA entrance exam 2025 dates are out. CA Foundation 2025 registration is open till September 1, 2024 for January 2025 session while the CA Intermediate registration closed on May 1. The CA Final registration last date is January 31 for the May 2025 session.
CA Entrance Exams 2025

Chartered Accountancy (CA) exams 2025 will follow a structured cycle across three levels: Foundation, Intermediate, and Final. The CA Foundation level comprises four papers while the Intermediate and Final levels consist of six papers each. These CA entrance exams are in the form of written tests conducted by ICAI in a traditional pen and paper format and include both long-form answers and multiple choices.

Foundation and intermediate level examinations of CA are conducted three times in a calendar year in January, May and September, whereas CA final examinations are conducted only twice a year in May and November. These levels are ordered in a hierarchy and the Foundation level is the easiest, with the difficulty level increasing with each level of CA exams. To pass each level of the CA course exams, a candidate must get at least 40% per cent on every paper and an average score of 50% overall.

ICAI CA Foundation Exam 2025

The ICAI CA Foundation Exam for January 2025 is an essential milestone for individuals working towards becoming Chartered Accountants in India. Registration for the exam is open till September 1, 2024 and candidates must ensure that they meet the basic minimum requirement of passing the 10+2 or any other equivalent examination. The CA Foundation exam dates 2025 are expected to be between January 9 and January 15, 2025. The CA Foundation examination is divided into four groups and each paper is worth 400 marks in total.

ICAI CA Intermediate Exam 2025

The ICAI CA Intermediate Exam for May 2025 is one of the significant steps for candidates who want to pursue a Chartered Accountant profession in India. Students can register for CA Intermediate online and pay the registration fee which is Rs 18,000 for two groups and Rs 13,000 for one group only. This exam is conducted three times a year in May, September and January, respectively. For the May 2025 examination, applicants are required to register at least eight months before the exam is scheduled. The candidates are encouraged to study hard since the curriculum covers detailed areas of accounting, law, and taxation pertinent to their career in finance and accounting.

ICAI CA Final Exam 2025

The ICAI CA Final Exam which is scheduled for May 2025 is one of the most important steps for the would-be Chartered Accountants of India. Registration for the exam will close on January 1, 2025. However, the CA Final exam dates 2025 are not yet announced. Under the new scheme, the CA Final syllabus includes six subjects divided into two groups: Group 1 includes subjects like Financial Reporting, Advanced Financial Management and Advanced Auditing while Group 2 includes the subjects of Direct Tax Laws & International Taxation, Indirect Tax Laws and Integrated Business Solutions.

CA Admission Process 2025

The CA admission process for 2025 under the new ICAI scheme offers two primary entry routes: These include the CA Foundation route and the Direct Entry route.

CA Foundation Route

This is the more common route used by students after they have appeared for their Class 12 or any equivalent examination. Students wishing to pursue CA Foundation must enrol in the course and before sitting for exams, they are supposed to complete four months of studying. The registration is valid for three years; there is a provision to take the foundation exams more than once.

CA Direct Entry Route

This option is open only to students who fulfil certain conditions like holding a degree in Commerce or a related field at the graduate or postgraduate level. Such students may enrol directly into the CA Intermediate level without passing the Foundation level. However, after registration, one is required to complete eight months of compulsory study before attempting the CA Intermediate Exams. On passing, they can start their three-year articleship training, which is followed by the CA Final exam.

The CA Exam Syllabus 2025 under the new ICAI scheme introduced in 2023 has undergone significant changes across all three levels, which a candidate needs to clear to become a chartered accountant. The examination for Foundation and Intermediate levels are computer based and held three times a year now and Final level examination is also computer based and is held twice a year. There’s also an introduction of multiple choice questions and no negative marking for MCQ based questions in CA Inter and Final levels. However, there is a negative marking of 0.25 marks in the CA Foundation exam MCQs. Now the CA question paper will comprise 30% MCQs and 70% subjective paper.

Will existing CA students be affected by the new curriculum?

Currently enrolled CA students will not be impacted by the new programme directly until they sit for exams from May 2024. Students who are to complete their courses before this particular date will be bound by old syllabus hence no alterations affect them as they continue with their courses.

What are the key subjects removed from the CA Final syllabus?

The ICAI has removed two subjects from the CA Final syllabus: Business and Company Laws and Goods and Services Tax Laws. These subjects have been replaced by self-paced modules that consist of compulsory sets which cover the area of Economic Laws and Strategic Cost Management to reduce the coverage in order to make it more practical oriented.

What is the CA New Course Scheme?

The new CA Course Scheme by ICAI, effective from July 1, 2023, introduces significant changes across all three levels. Some of the main changes are a decrease in articleship period from three to two years, new pattern of examinations containing 30 percent MCQs with no negative marking for CA Inter and Final MCQs and less number of subjects of studies. The validity of registration of the Foundation course has now been pegged at four years, CA Inter validity is now 5 years and CA Final validity is 10 years under the new CA scheme.
