CBSE Board Exam 2024 for class 10th was conducted from February 15, 2024, to March 13, 2024, and for class 12th, from February 15, 2024, to April 2, 2024. CBSE Board Exams 2025 will also be conducted from 15th February 2025. CBSE informs the exam dates at the beginning of the academic year, but the detailed date sheet is released every year in December. Students can download the date sheet's PDF by visiting the CBSE official website. If any changes are made to the date sheet, then it is informed through a circular uploaded on the official website. In 2023, CBSE 10th Exams were conducted from 15th February 2023 and 21st March 2023. Similarly, class 12th exams were conducted from 15th February 2023 to 5th April 2023.

It is observed that every year CBSE Board conducts the exams starting from 15th February for both classes 10th and 12th. However, in 2022, CBSE conducted 2 exams in one annual year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Term 1 exams were conducted from November 30 to December 11 for Class 10, and from December 1 to December 22 for Class 12. CBSE Class 10 Exam 2024

According to the CBSE Class 10 Syllabus 2024-25 decided by the Central Board of Secondary Education, in class 10th there are five compulsory subjects, including Language 1, Languages 2, Social Science, Mathematics, and Science. Students can choose an optional third language and another elective subject according to the list provided by CBSE or according to their interests. Apart from this, there are three compulsory subjects which will be tested only through the school premises and the marks for these will be reflected as grades. These are Health and Physical Education, Work Experience, and Art Education. It is compulsory to have a passing grade in all these subjects to be eligible for the passing certificate.

According to recent changes made in the curriculum, the board exam in Mathematics is held at two levels in Class X. Students who opt for Mathematics - Basic can only take Applied Mathematics (241) as an Elective in Class XI/Sr. Secondary and not Mathematics (041) at Sr. Secondary level. However, a student who has opted for Mathematics - standard can offer any one of the two available Mathematics at Sr. Secondary level. Every year, CBSE constructs the date sheet based on the holidays and the amount of preparation time needed to prepare for a specific subject. There is plenty of time to study for the exams in between the papers. At least one day off is provided in between every exam for the main subjects.

CBSE Class 12 Exam 2024

In class 12th, two language subjects are compulsory, out of which one language subject can be transformed into an academic elective by the will of the student. Next, the students must choose three academic electives according to the stream of their choice or the skill that they want to develop. As their fourth subject, students can choose another language or academic elective from a pool of Languages, Academic, and Skill subjects. Lastly, three subjects are based only on internal assessment provided by the school authorities, namely Health and Physical Education, Work Experience, and General Studies. Languages include Hindi, English, and other 34 languages. Hindi or English must be one of the two languages to be studied in classes XI and XII. According to the date sheets released by CBSE over the last few years, it is observed that optimal days are given off between two papers for the preparation of the students. The date sheet is released in December; however, the exam dates are communicated to the students through a circular uploaded on the official website. Exams are not held on any holiday or Sunday. Even if any exam date overlaps with any holiday then it is edited immediately and a new date sheet is released accordingly. CBSE Class 12 Date Sheet 2025 will be available in December 2024.

CBSE Board Exam 2024 - Exams To Be Conducted Twice From 2025?

According to the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020, CBSE students will be allowed to appear twice for the board exams in one academic year, starting from the academic session 2025-26. Students will be able to retain the best score out of the two exams and that score will be published in their marksheet. The new policy was adopted by CBSE to provide equal opportunities to the students who were not able to perform their best in the first exams due to any reason. Although it is not compulsory for the students to sit for the second exams, it is made available for the students who want to improve their scores.
