CCMT vs COAP Counselling Process

COAP GATE Counseling 2024

Candidates are required to register online on the GATE COAP 2024 official website in order to participate in the M. Tech course admission rounds. Some of the key features of the counselling process that can secure candidates admission into various M.Tech courses at IITs are as follows:

  • GATE COAP is the common platform where all the participating IITs upload offer letters in a common time window
  • COAP allows institutes to offer admission based on GATE results and accept applications from candidates
  • Candidates registering on the COAP will have access to admission/job offers from all participating institutes / PSUs where they have applied for M.Tech admissions/jobs
  • COAP is not an application portal, but rather an online counselling platform. For this reason, candidates should apply independently to their desired institutes for admission via GATE counselling

CCMT GATE 2024 Counselling

Candidates can secure admissions into M.Tech, M.Arch, or M.Plan programmes offered at NITs, IIITs, GFTIs, IIEST Shibpur, and CFTIs based on GATE counselling 2024 through CCMT (Centralized Counselling for MTech).

  • Along with online registration on the CCMT website, candidates must fill out their course/college preferences during registration
  • Each candidate is assigned a seat based on their rank, choices filled, and the availability of seats
  • After a seat has been allocated, candidates are required to confirm their seat by submitting a seat acceptance fee. Candidates must also report to the reporting centre for document verification and then report to their allotted college and pay the admission fee

CCMT vs COAP Admission Process

GATE COAP: Admission Acceptance Process 2024

Candidates with a valid GATE scorecard who seek to participate in the GATE counselling process 2024 must be aware of the process and how admission is done once they have registered for the GATE counselling process. Candidates can register for GATE counselling via the COAP portal by following the steps mentioned below:

  • Log in to the COAP portal at iitk.ac.in/coap2024.
  • Visit the institute-wise allotment information section, where you can find the seat allocation option
  • All candidates will have the option of selecting one of three choices
  • Accept and Freeze: This is the option if the candidate does not wish to improve his or her preferences and is prepared to accept one of the offers. These candidates will not be considered for further rounds of COAP counselling.
  • Retain and Wait: This option has to be selected if partial acceptance is shown and the candidate wants to consider upgrading to additional preferences in subsequent counselling rounds. Such candidates will not be considered for additional offers rejected in the current round. In case a better preference is offered to him/her, then the existing 'Retain and Wait' offer will be released
  • Reject and Wait: This option has to be used if the candidate does not wish to accept any of the offers provided during the current round. Such candidates will still be evaluated for higher preferences in subsequent rounds of counselling.
  • Finally, click on the submit button and complete the further admission process

GATE CCMT: Admission Acceptance Process 2024

Candidates must have knowledge about the GATE counselling process in order to be admitted to NITs, IIITs, and other institutions, as well as the entire admission acceptance process by which the GATE CCMT counselling is carried out. For admission into NITS, IIITs, and GFTIs, all qualifying candidates must first register at the CCMT portal. It will be followed by three GATE counselling rounds for seat allotment in various institutes.

Pre-Allotment Process

  • Start by registering on the official portal of CCMT
  • The registration fee for OC/OB candidates is INR 2200, while SC/ST/PwD candidates will have to pay INR 1700
  • Fill out the form with accurate information

Seat Allotment

  • Seats will be allotted during the admission process depending on the GATE 2024 exam scores secured by candidates
  • After a seat has been allocated, candidates are required to pay INR 20,000 as seat acceptance fee
  • Candidates must report to a reporting centre to complete the document verification process

Getting Admitted To ‘Allotted Institute’

  • After getting their documents verified, candidates must pay a fee of INR 10,000 to reserve their seats provisionally
  • The remaining amount has to be paid at the relevant allocated institute while reporting at the institute

Dear Student,

If you have studied B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering at the graduate level, then you are eligible to apply for admission at the National Power Training Institute (NPTI) in Nagpur. While NPTI mainly focuses on training in the power and energy sector, some courses are related to areas like IT, automation, and management. These areas may have relevance to Computer Science students, especially those interested in fields like data management for power plants and automation and control systems. For example, there is a course at NPTI that involves smart grid technology or IT solutions for the power sector. …

Rupsa, Content Team

Dear Student,

Unfortunately, Sikkim Manipal University does not offer M.Tech as a distance course. If you want to take admission here, you will have to enrol in a regular 2-year MTech course in Communication and Signal Process, Computer Science & Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Power Electronics. There are other PG distance courses available at Sikkim Manipal University-Distance Education (SMU-DE), like MBA, MCA, and MSc (IT), which are UGC and Distance Education Board (DEB) approved. However, you can consider other good colleges for M.Tech distance courses like Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU), Annamalai University, …
