Online learning methods have become the latest trend in India with more and more students opting for online tutoring or online coaching. Not only the student faction is going GaGa over the online learning methods but many educational institutions also have opted for online teaching methods.
In spite of all these things, there are several educational institutions that still prefer to follow the traditional method of teaching - classroom teaching. Today, in this article, we will be focussing on those aspects of traditional teaching or classroom learning which cannot be easily replaced by Online learning or teaching methods.
Reasons Why Traditional Learning Methods are Better
In this section, we will try to point out those factors that tip the balance towards traditional learning or classroom teaching -
Discipline - It might seem lucrative to few the option of sitting at your home and learning as per your own speed. What you ignore is ‘what if an alluring distraction pops up’. Whatsapp notifications from your crush, another episode of “Mirzapur” etc might just be the good enough reason to skip your online lesson for a little, and a little more and….. There is no chance of distraction if you join a traditional class. You have a certain time set where you spend it with your peers and professors and the rest can be dedicated to your favourite - Kaleen Bhaiya or ...you got it!
A Place Full of Like-Minded People - In traditional learning, you are a part of a particular group who are also attending the same class. This gives you an opportunity to interact with them and discuss the things taught in the classroom to strengthen your understanding of the topics. Because you are a part of a student group who has the same goal or objective, it can give you the motivation to pursue and complete the course.
Guidance of Professionals - Sometimes the thing which the online learners miss dearly is the guidance of the teachers or professionals. E-Learners only can read and understand the literal meaning of the written piece. They might miss out on the underlying contexts especially if they are studying literature. Having a teacher can be immensely beneficial as they can immediately answer your queries.
Other than these -
There are different types of students in a single class and traditional teaching methods enables the teachers to identify those who are not following the lessons. The teachers then can alter their teaching style to cater to the weaker students if that is what helps them
The teachers through interesting and interactive activities keep the students simulated resulting in high retention of the things taught
By engaging students in live discussions, the teachers teach the students to use their critical thinking skills to formulate arguments and opinions
