Documents Required to Fill AFCAT 2025 Application Form: The Indian Air Force (IAF) conducts the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) twice annually, providing opportunities to join various IAF branches, both in flying and non-flying roles. AFCAT 1 2025 applications will open in December 2024. This session is for candidates aiming to commence courses at the Air Force Academy.  AFCAT 1 2025 exams will be conducted in February 2025. Age Limit

Different branches of the Indian Air Force (IAF) have varying age requirements for candidates appearing in the AFCAT 2 2025 exam. Below is the updated age limit for different branches as of January 2025:

Flying branch

Candidates aiming for the Flying Branch should be between 20 and 24 years old. However, for those pursuing a Commercial Pilot’s license, the upper age limit has been stretched to 26 years.

Ground Duty (Technical and Non-technical)

As for Ground Duty, both technical and non-technical roles have an age requirement of between 20 and 26 years.

Marital Status

Here are the updated guidelines for candidates' marital status:

  • To be eligible, candidates must be under 25 years old and unmarried at the start of the course. Those who are divorced or widowed under the age of 25 are not eligible.
  • Candidates who are married and over 25 years old can still apply. However, they won't have the option to live with their families or receive family accommodations during training.

Educational Qualification

Here are the educational qualifications needed for different branches in the Indian Air Force (IAF):

  • For this branch, you need to have at least 60% marks in your 10+2 exam in Maths and Physics.
  • Additionally, you must either hold a graduation degree in any discipline, BE/BTech, or pass the section A and B exams of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with 60% marks.

Ground Duty (Technical Branch)

Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics):

  • Candidates should have 60% marks in Maths and Physics in their 10+2 exam along with a four-year Engineering/Technology degree.
  • Alternatively, clearing the section A and B exams of the Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or the Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers with 60% marks in specified disciplines is also acceptable.

Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical):

  • You need to clear your 10+2 exam with 60% marks in Physics and Maths.
  • Also, a degree or integrated post-graduation in Engineering and Technology is required.
  • Alternatively, clearing sections A and B examination of the Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India with at least 60% marks or equivalent in specified disciplines by the IAF is acceptable.

Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branches

Administration:

  • Graduation in any discipline with at least 60% marks is required.
  • Alternatively, clearing sections A and B examination of the Associate Membership of the Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India with at least 60% marks is acceptable.

Education

  • Candidates should have completed MBA/MCA or MA/MSc in subjects like English, Physics, Chemistry, Statistics, International Relations, International Studies, Defence Studies, Psychology, Computer Science, IT, Management, Mass Communication, Journalism, and Public Relations with at least 50% marks.
  • Additionally, scoring at least 60% in graduation is necessary.

Selection of the City of Examination

After successfully uploading all documents, candidates must select the city from the ‘Drop down’ where they wish to take the AFCAT 2022 exam. As many as 5 cities can be chosen. Once done, candidates can click on the self-declaration checkbox and proceed to the payment page.

Step 3: AFCAT 2025 Application Fee Payment

The next step involves paying the requisite amount for AFCAT Application 2025. For this, one has to:

  • Click on the option that says ‘Make Payment’
  • Pay INR 550 through the online mode after filling up the application form – Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card/UPI/Challan payment (fees once paid cannot be refunded; candidates registering for Meteorology and NCC Special Entry need not pay the requisite amount)
  • View the ‘Confirmation Page’ to check the status of payment onscreen (A confirmation message will also be sent via mail/SMS)
