Do’s and Don’ts after KCET Mock Allotment 2024: The mock allotment of KCET 2024 is expected to be released at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in around the second week of August 2024 by Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA). Mock allotment provides candidates with a basic idea about the actual KCET Seat Allotment 2024 . Candidates should treat the mock allotment seriously and make edits to the college options accordingly. There are certain do’s and don’ts candidates must follow while editing the college options. Some candidates may be allotted seats as per the first choice while some candidates may be allotted seats as per the second/ third/ fourth/ lower choice in the mock round of KCET 2024 . Do’s after KCET Mock Allotment 2024

Here are the suggestive activities that the candidates can take into consideration after checking the mock allotment result –

  • Crosscheck if your mock allotment result is as per the first option you selected in the choice filling

  • If your mock allotment is as per the first option, there is no need to edit the choices because your KCET rank matches the closing rank/ cutoff range of the respective college

  • If your mock allotment result is as per the 2 nd / 3 rd / 4 th / lower option ( other than the first choice ), check the KCET 2024 mock allotment cutoff of the college that you selected as the first option. In addition, check the previous years’ KCET cutoff of the respective colleges. Crosscheck if your KCET rank matches with the mock cutoff and previous years’ closing rank of the respective college, category & course. Based on your observation, edit the college options accordingly

  • If you did not get an allotment as per the first choice in the mock round, list out the first five colleges selected by you in the options form. Check the mock round cutoff and previous years’ closing ranks of all these five colleges. If your KCET rank does not match with any of the college cutoff/ closing ranks, you will need to edit the options accordingly. Pick up those colleges as per the mock cutoff that falls under your rank range and edit the option entry form

  • If you did not get an allotment in the mock round and your rank is above 1,00,000 in KCET, you can check the list of colleges for above 1,00,000 rank in KCET and edit the options accordingly

Don’ts after KCET Mock Allotment 2024

Here are the suggestive activities that the candidates can avoid after checking the mock allotment result –

  • It is advisable to not edit the college option if your mock allotment result is as per the first choice. However, you can edit the options if you have changed your admission plans

  • Do not edit the options without checking the mock round cutoff and previous years’ closing ranks

  • If you are aspiring for CSE in any college, it is important to keep CSE as the first-course option within the respective college. Do not submit the college options without crosschecking the course priority number twice

  • Avoid sharing your CET number and other login details with others specifically at Internet centers

KCET First Round Seat Allotment 2024

KCET seat allotment 2024 for the first round is expected to be announced tentatively in the third week of August 2024. This announcement will follow the publishing of the mock seat allotment. The KCET seat allotment 2024 round 1 result will be released by KEA in online mode at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. To determine the allotment, the authorities will consider the choices filled during Round 1 of the KCET 2024 counselling process and the candidate's merit in the KCET exam 2024. The candidates who are allotted seats must complete the admission formalities within the stipulated time frame to secure their place.
