GATE Exam Day Guidelines: Do’s and Dont’s

Many applicants have a tendency to forget crucial information throughout the hectic preparation process, which might ruin an otherwise successful day. For the day before the exam, a few last-minute suggestions have been provided so that you don't run into any issues that might have been avoided. Candidates can check the GATE Do’s and Don'ts is given below.

  • Before the GATE exam, you must download the GATE admit card , print it in color, and save a copy to your Google Drive. The rationale is that it is necessary for PSU recruitment through GATE as well as M.Tech admissions . The GATE scores are valid for three years, so you might get them back if you wish to follow the same in around a year. Similar to PSU recruitment, you won't have to go very far if you have the opportunity to apply for employment based on your GATE result in the upcoming years
  • Check the GATE exam centre the day before. You will save a lot of time by doing this exercise to obtain a solid sense of the route to take, and the time it will take, and to reduce the likelihood that you will get lost on the day of the exam
  • Prepare your exam-day gear the day before. Both your GATE admit card and the actual photo ID that you listed on your GATE application form must be present in order to enter the test room
  • Keep in mind that cell phones are not permitted inside. It would be best to avoid carrying them as a secure container might not be available. You risk being disqualified and having your phone taken if you carry one inside and forget, both of which are losses that should be prevented at all costs
  • On the day of the GATE exam, get going early so you can arrive well in advance. One hour before the GATE exam, you must report to the exam centre. If you rush at the last minute, you can miss out on crucial time for the exam and there might be biometric verification.
  • As soon as you enter the exam room, look at the seating plans to see where you could be assigned
  • Keep in mind that you will only be permitted inside 35 minutes before the exam's commencement and that you may only exit after the test has ended. You won't be permitted to enter the exam room if you come after 9:30 am (IST) for the morning session and 2:30 pm (IST) for the afternoon session
  • The GATE exam day guidelines are helpful for organizing the exam's schedule. It is essential since the three-hour exam necessitates quick thinking, effective time management, and knowledge of how to maximize your result

GATE Guidelines for Exam Day

While attempting the GATE exam students should keep the following GATE exam day guidelines in mind

  • Employ the "delete the irrelevant/wrong answer" method while responding to MCQs. You may reduce your selections using this strategy
  • It is best to include the aptitude component last. Reasoning and intuition are required in this section rather than technical analysis or thought
  • Take note of the pertinent formulas in your head. This will help you study during the final week before the test
  • Aim to respond to questions that need more than one topic or formula when taking practice exams. Using this technique, you may determine which formula is appropriate for certain types of inquiries
  • Choose the questions in the GATE exam you wish to address first. It's preferable not to spend too much time on difficult or time-consuming tasks if you don't feel confident in your ability to solve them
  • Time management and speed control must be used effectively right away throughout the exam. The directions on the admission card and the test should also be carefully read

Dear Student,

Unfortunately, Sikkim Manipal University does not offer M.Tech as a distance course. If you want to take admission here, you will have to enrol in a regular 2-year MTech course in Communication and Signal Process, Computer Science & Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Power Electronics. There are other PG distance courses available at Sikkim Manipal University-Distance Education (SMU-DE), like MBA, MCA, and MSc (IT), which are UGC and Distance Education Board (DEB) approved. However, you can consider other good colleges for M.Tech distance courses like Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU), Annamalai University, …
