What are GATE EC MCQ, MSQ and NAT Questions?

The GATE 2025 exam will include majorly 3 types of questions, ie, MCQ, MSQ, and NAT. All of these questions will have a different format and the answering process of the same will also be dissimilar. The points below entail the crux related to GATE EC MCQ, MSQ and NAT questions:-

  • MCQs: Shortened for Multiple Choice Questions, they will include 4 options, out of which, one will be correct. Choosing the correct option will win you a mark, however, choosing the incorrect answer will lead to negative marking.
  • MSQ: The GATE exam will have various Multiple Select Questions wherein, various options will be correct. In order to be awarded a mark, you will have to choose all the correct answers. You should note that the authority does not follow negative markings for MSQs.
  • NAT: The Numerical Answer Type questions are the numerical problems that typically have answers in decimal form. There will be no negative marking in the NAT questions.
