GATE 2025 Scorecard:
The
GATE 2025 exam
authority, IIT Roorkee will release the GATE 2025 scorecard following the announcement of the GATE 2025 result on March 28, 2025. All the qualified students can check the GATE 2025 scorecard on the official GATE 2025 website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in. Applicants will be able to download the GATE 2025 scorecards from the official website from March 28 to May 31, 2025, after that students will be required to pay an additional fee of Rs. 500 as a late payment to download the GATE 2025 scorecard. Students will be required to keep their login credentials handy to download the GATE 2025 scorecard.
GATE scorecard 2025 is of equal importance as the rank card as it will contain the marks, all India ranks, GATE score (out of 1000), total marks obtained out of 100 (raw score), qualifying marks for all students, name of paper attempted by the applicant, etc. The scorecard of GATE 2025 will be valid for 3 years from the day the GATE results are declared in 2025. Applicants whose marks are equal to or more than the minimum qualifying cutoff for GATE 2025 will be considered "Qualified" and can apply for admission to postgraduate courses or participate in recruitment processes. Applicants are recommended to keep their GATE scorecard for future reference since it is valid for M.Tech admissions in the
GATE 2025 participating colleges
. However, it is important to remember that this validity may not apply to PSU recruitment unless the job advertising specifically states so.
IIT Roorkee will release the
GATE 2025 result
and cutoff on March 19, 2025. Applicants scoring the GATE cutoff 2025 marks will be eligible to take part in the GATE counseling process. GATE 2025 counseling will be conducted for GATE COAP 2025 from March 19, 2025, onwards. The CCMT 2025 counseling is likely to start in June 2025. Step 1: Go to the official website of GOAPS
Step 2 : A box showing “download GATE score card 2025” will show. Click on the box to download the scorecard.
Step 3 : You will have to log in to the official portal with your registered username/GATE 2025 application number and password given for GATE 2025.
Step 4 : Click on the tab that shows “GATE 2025 scorecard”
Step 5: Your GATE 2025 scorecard will appear on the screen.

How are the Marks Calculated for GATE 2025?
To calculate the GATE 2025 marks, you will have to apply this formula. The raw marks are needed to be processed by the normalization method. The score obtained after the calculation shall be considered. Below is the formula for calculating the GATE 2025 marks, where ‘M’ stands for the marks the student has scored, ‘Mq’ is the general category qualifying marks obtained, and ‘M1’ is the top 0.1% of the applicant's marks obtained appeared in the examination. ‘Sq’ is the mark assigned to ‘Mq’ i.e. 350. St is the score assigned to ‘Mt’ i.e. 900.
GATE Scorecard Validity for IITs
The GATE exam authority does not have any limitations regarding the number of attempts a student can make for admission to IITs. However, the validity of the GATE scorecard varies depending on its purpose of utilization. The validity of the GATE scorecard specifically differs for NITs, IITs, and PSU recruitments.
For admissions into M.Tech or higher education programs, the GATE scorecard is valid for 3 years for IITs.
Students who achieve a top rank with an All Indian Rank (AIR) lower than 200 have the opportunity to be directly admitted into prestigious institutions like the Indian Institute of Science or Indian Institute of Technology.
