How to Check KVS Admission List 2025-26: The admission process for Classes 2 to 10th, along with Balvatika-2 in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (except Class 11), began on April 2, 2025 (9:00 AM), and will continue till April 11, 2025 (4:00 PM), for the 2025-26 academic session. Class-wise KVS Admission Process 2025 (Class 1-12)

The admission process for each class under the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has been provided below.

KVS Admission Process 2025 for Class I

The approved class strength is 32 students per section. Out of the available seats of fresh admission, reservation of seats will be made in the following manner:

• After the students under the RTE Act followed by Children with Special Needs (CwSN) are provided admission, children belonging to Category 1 (including SC/ST/OBC-NCL) will be considered.

• Similarly, after children belonging to Category 1 are admitted, students for Category 2 (including SC/ST/OBC-NCL) will be considered (up to Category 3 in the case of Project/IHL School).

• After the registration process is conducted, the conduct of lottery by each Kendriya Vidyalaya will be done in the following sequence:

  • RTE Lottery

  • All CwSN Lotteries

  • CAT-I

  • CAT-II

  • SC

  • ST

  • OBC

  • CAT-III

  • CAT-IV

  • CAT-V

  • CAT -VI (if applicable)

• Children admitted under the 25% quota prescribed under the RTE Act 2009 must not pay any admission fee, and once they are admitted to Class I under the RTE Act, they will be exempted from any kind of fee payment and can enjoy concessions till Class VIII in the same KV.

KVS Admission Process 2025 for Class II to VIII

No admission test shall be conducted for providing admission from Class II to VIII and admission will be granted to students to fill up the vacant seats.

KVS Admission Process 2025 for Class IX

An admission test will be conducted, and a merit list will be prepared separately for the category of priority to provide admission to Class IX. The admission test will be conducted in subjects such as Hindi, English, Mathematics, Social Science, and Science. There will be only one paper in the admission test that will have 100 marks. The mark allotted per section is 20. The duration of the admission test will be 3 hours. To qualify for the admission test, candidates in the general category must secure a minimum of 33% marks in aggregate. The minimum qualifying percentage for SC/ST/CwSN students is 25% in aggregate.

KVS Admission Process 2025 for Class XI and XII

• Merit-based admission will be provided to different streams like Science, Commerce, and Humanities.

• The student must have studied in a CBSE-affiliated school.

• For admission to class XII, obtaining 55% marks in aggregate in the class XI examination is mandatory.

• The maximum strength in the case of KV students will be 40 students depending on the availability of streams in each Kendriya Vidyalaya.

• The marks obtained by the candidates in the Class X CBSE Board Examination will determine the stream they can opt for in Class XI.

• A merit list will be prepared for the registered KV students only.

• If a situation arises in which two or more candidates have obtained equal marks in aggregate of all subjects, candidates obtaining higher marks in Mathematics will be preferred. If two or more candidates obtain the same marks in Mathematics, the candidates securing higher marks in Mathematics and Science will be preferred for admission.

• Students belonging to SC/ST/OBC/CwSN can avail themselves of an increase in aggregate by 4% marks for admission to class XI.

• A concession of up to 6% marks in aggregate will be granted under the Sports/ Games/ NCC/ Scout/ Guide/ Adventure categories.
